It's that time of year again... Exams!

No doubt any High School or College student is currently cramming down in preparation for their end of year exams.

Exams are a high pressure situation. For some, their whole future is resting on two hours in an exam hall. We've all been there and it's certainly not easy.

That's why it's important to have structured revision. A good set of materials to prepare from so that you can feel ready. However, it's easy to just get your head stuck in the books and not come up for air. That's not good preparation.

By adding yoga to your schedule, you can take time throughout the day to clear your mind, relax, de-stress and improve your focus.

Yoga For Stress Relief

During young adulthood, there is a lot of pressure both educational and social. Juggling expectations and not letting any balls drop can be a stressful balancing act. Stress is often the leading cause of anxiety, depression and other mental health disorders in young people.

This is where yoga can help. It's a highly regarded stress busting tool that can help you chill out. A good yoga instructor will teach you important breathing techniques that help you control your breathing. This is one of the most important skills that yoga can offer. Being able to slow yourself down and take a deep breath improves your focus and allows you to deal better with the task at hand.

You can even do it in small blocks as opposed to one hour long practice. It will help improve your flexibility in key muscles and joints and will ultimately leave you feeling re-energized.

Many schools have begun introducing yoga to school children. It can teach important life lessons and can be a good way for young children to maintain concentration throughout the day. Although some States do not allow it for religious reason, more and more are beginning to embrace the benefits. It's especially useful for dealing with behavioural problems.
